The Basler Electric MVC-300 is a fully solid-state Electronic Manual Voltage Control unit designed to provide manual control of generator excitation voltage in the event of automatic voltage regulator (AVR) failure.

As seen clearly in the photo, the MVC-300 features a 3-position AUTO-OFF-MAN selector switch and a front-panel MANUAL VOLTAGE ADJUST potentiometer — allowing the operator to manually maintain generator output voltage to critical and emergency loads until repairs can be made.
